EDM Visuals for Clubs and Festivals: 10 Packs Compared

The article is written by a human. Mistakes have been edited by AI. All prices and specifications verified on the product pages in September 2026. Prices change — check before you buy.

Ten packs, 339 clips, and one number nobody puts on a sales page: how much you actually pay per clip. Buy these ten separately and you spend €870. The five that ship together as a bundle cost €249 instead of €425. That is the whole article in two sentences — the rest is which pack does what, and the two specifications that decide whether a clip survives on a real screen.

Who this article is for: VJs, club residents and event crews who already own a mixer and need to fill the content bank — not people deciding whether to start VJing.

What it solves: Picking EDM visuals by what actually matters on a wall — frame rate, resolution and how much of the frame is black — instead of by thumbnail.

What you get by the end: A spec-by-spec comparison of ten packs, the real per-clip cost of each route, and a clear answer on which three you buy first.

Hello dear VJs and clients of LIME ART GROUP. I am new media artist Alexander Kuiava. Since 2012 our studio has produced over 100 VJ Loops Packs for clubs, festivals, theatres and projection shows, and this page covers the ten that get pulled out most often for electronic dance music.

How to choose EDM visuals: the four specs that matter

Answer first: frame rate and black ratio decide more than resolution does. Everything else is taste.

Frame rate: 60 fps matters more than you think

A thin bright line moving across a black frame is the hardest thing a screen has to do. At 29 fps it steps. At 60 fps it travels. That is the single most visible difference in this whole catalogue, and it is invisible in a still preview — which is exactly why people buy the wrong pack.

Six of the ten packs here run at 60 fps: Backlines, EDM Bridge, Neon Deer, Bass Abyss, Gold Kokon and RB Neon Stage. Three run at 29 or 30 fps, and one ships at 25–29. The slower packs are not worse; they are built from texture and mass rather than fast line motion, so the cadence does not show. However, if the content is thin lines on black, take the 60 fps version.

Resolution: 4K is about cropping, not about detail

Five packs ship in Ultra HD 3840×2160 as well as Full HD: Liquid Light, Minimal Grid, Neon Deer, Bass Abyss and Gold Kokon. On a club LED wall running at maybe 1408×768 actual pixels, the 4K version shows you nothing extra — the processor throws most of it away.

Where it does pay is reframing. A 4K clip gives you room to crop to a letterbox strip for a wide header screen, or to punch in on one corner, and still land at native Full HD. Therefore, if your rig is one 16:9 surface, Full HD is the honest answer and the smaller file.

Black ratio: the spec nobody prints

On RB Neon Stage roughly ninety per cent of every frame is black. That is a deliberate production decision and it changes how the content behaves in a room: the screen adds structure without lifting the ambient light, so your lighting designer can still work and the front rows do not get flooded.

Bright, full-frame content does the opposite. It looks spectacular in a preview and then fights every fixture in the venue. Consequently, for a long set you want a mix — a few bright packs for drops, and a majority of dark-frame content you can run for an hour. Our guide on LED screens versus video projectors goes further into why the same clip reads differently on the two surfaces.

Character content versus abstract

Two packs here are character-driven: Neon Deer and Main Element. A recurring figure makes a set memorable and gives you a visual signature. Meanwhile it also narrows where you can use it — a glitching Einstein head is wrong for a corporate AV job in a way that a golden grid never is.

In practice, buy character packs for your own residency and your own brand. Buy abstract packs for client work. Most working VJs need both, in roughly a one-to-four ratio.

Every pack is seamlessly looped, ships in MOV and DXV, and imports directly into Resolume Arena, Arkaos, Modul8, VDMX and MadMapper. DXV is Resolume’s own GPU-decoded format — Resolume documents the codec and its alpha variants if you want the technical detail on why it plays back cheaper than H.264.

vj loops pack

Vol.18 — Abstract Background Textures

60 clips · Full HD · 25–29 fps · €89

The largest pack in the list and the one to buy first if you own nothing. Light rays, geometric animation, sharp edges, glitch, liquid and shine across red, green, blue, gold, silver and multicolour. Nothing here is a statement; everything mixes under something else. At €1.48 per clip it is also the cheapest per unit of the ten. The trade-off is frame rate — at 25–29 fps it is not the pack for fast line work, but as a bed layer it does not need to be.

Backlines VJ Loops Pack

Vol.27 — Backlines

42 clips · Full HD · 60 fps · €89 · rated 5.00

Black-and-white glitch lines and minimal techno patterns on pure black. Built for the part of the night where the screen should recede. Sixty frames per second on high-contrast lines is the combination that matters here. It carries one customer review, five stars, left by a working VJ who used it at his own events.

Vol.17 — Main Element

40 clips · Full HD · 29 fps · €99 · rated 5.00 from 2 reviews

Character content: faces, masks, a tiger, an Einstein head, glitch treatments over all of it. Designed as the centre object in a live mix rather than as a background — you run it on top and put your own texture underneath. Honest caveat, because it affects where you can use it: recognisable-figure content is a creative choice with a narrower professional range than abstract work. Read the licence agreement before you put it in front of a brand.

Minimal grid VJ loops with golden line patterns Live Visuals

Vol.37 — Minimal Grid

36 clips · Full HD + 4K · 29 fps · €89

Fine golden lines, dash grids, tunnel arcs and ray fans. Texture rather than spectacle — dense enough to fill a wall, quiet enough to run for an hour without exhausting the room. Strobing and flow transitions are rendered into the clips, so one loop already carries its own dynamics without any effect on your side. Set one to Add over a heavier layer and it becomes a lattice of light across it.

eye separator

Vol.42 — Bass Abyss

30 clips · Full HD + 4K · 60 fps · €99 · 15 Gb

Deep blue and white tunnels, beat-matched geometry, space-age minimal techno. The 4K masters are why this pack is 15 Gb — check your drive before a festival run. Of everything here this is the most specific: it is a minimal and techno pack, and it will feel wrong over big-room house.

event visuals neon vj loops

Vol.47 — RB Neon Stage

30 clips · Full HD · 60 fps · €79 · 3 Gb

Thin red and blue neon line on black — chevrons, wireframe rooms in perspective, mandalas, arches, radial bursts. Roughly ninety per cent of each frame stays black. This is the laser look without the rig, the safety zones or the operator. It will not drive an actual laser projector — those need vector data in ILDA format and this is video — but on a LED wall the sparse lines read the same way from the floor. Lowest price in the list and by far the smallest download at 3 Gb, which is what happens when most of the frame is black.

Vol.5 — Liquid Light

28 clips · Full HD + 4K · 29–30 fps · €89

Blue, silver, gold and orange liquid light leaking across black. Built originally for psytrance events and still the most organic-feeling set in this group — everything else here is geometric. At 29–30 fps, and correctly so: slow liquid motion has no fast edges to stutter.

eye separator

Vol.43 — Gold Kokon

27 clips · Full HD + 4K · 60 fps · €89 · 24 Gb

Golden rays, liquid gold texture, abstract geometry with a metallic finish. The obvious use is awards ceremonies and galas rather than raves, and it earns its place here because most VJs eventually get booked for one.

eye separator
vj loops pack with 3d animated deers

Vol.40 — Neon Deer

26 clips · Full HD + 4K · 60 fps · €89

Three-dimensional stags with glowing antlers, head-banging, mirrored on black, cycling through electric blue, red, magenta, cyan, green and gold with lightning and glitch effects. Absurd and completely effective. A recurring animal motif is the cheapest way to make a set recognisable — the crowd remembers the deer long after they have forgotten which track was playing.

EDM VJ Loops pack

Vol.39 — EDM Bridge

20 clips · Full HD · 60 fps · €59

Triangles, animated polygons, 3D tunnels and kaleidoscopic loops in yellow, azure, red and fuchsia. The smallest pack and the cheapest entry point at €59. Twenty clips will not carry a night on their own. As drop material layered over one of the background packs, it does its job.

The specification that decides everything

If you remember one thing from this page: a thin bright line on black is the hardest content a screen has to render, and 29 fps is where it breaks. Six of these ten packs run at 60 fps. Check that number before you check the thumbnail.

Big Bundles for VJs

Complete collections at a lower cost per clip

What the bundle actually saves you

Five of these ten ship together as EDM VJ Loops Bundle Vol.1: Liquid Light, Main Element, Abstract Background Textures, EDM Bridge and Neon Deer. That is 174 clips for €249.

Here is the arithmetic the sales page does not show you.

Route Clips Cost Per clip
The 5 bundle packs, bought separately 174 €425 €2.44
EDM VJ Loops Bundle Vol.1 174 €249 €1.43
All 10 packs, bought separately 339 €870 €2.57

The real saving versus buying those five packs one at a time is €176 — a 41 per cent discount. The bundle page frames it against a €499 list price, which is a different and less useful number. Notably, €176 is the one you can verify yourself by adding up five product pages, so that is the one printed here.

For a working VJ the sequence that makes sense is: bundle first, because it covers backgrounds, character content and drop material in one purchase. Then add Backlines for the minimal stretches and RB Neon Stage for the laser look. As a result you hold 246 clips for €417, and it will cover a residency without repeating.

If you would rather not assemble it pack by pack, the bundles category has the same maths applied to other genres — Rave and Glitch bundles are priced identically at €249.

The short answer

Start with the bundle at €249 for 174 clips. Add Backlines and RB Neon Stage. That is 246 clips for €417, covering bright drops, dark minimal stretches and a character signature — enough to run a residency without the crowd seeing the same loop twice in a night.
